Tips for New International Students

ISA's! Share your tips here! Below is mine:

No.1: for non-native speakers: Try to speak in English as much as you can!
Maybe you didn't get a high store in your TOEFL test, or maybe you have an accent, but those things should not be the reason for you to be shy. Just remember, it is others that have to try their best to understand you. If you don't want to bother, try customer services. They get paid for listening to you! No need to feel sorry for "wasting" someone's time. So when finding a place to stay, or when openning a bank account, that's a great opportunity for you to explain something clearly. Speak out! Make phone calls if you have any concern. You'll be so happy to see how fast you can improve yourself!

And to ISA's: you are welcomed to edit this post and put new ideas! Should I make any mistake, please point it out.

  2. Hey Sunny!

This is a great idea! Hmm... here's my share:
    2. Don't be afraid to ask your roommates for help. If they're decent people, they won't make fun of you and will actually ENJOY teaching you new stuff. My freshman dorm room was a great classroom for me to learn more American terms and phrases.
